(Seal) To all to whom these presents shall come. Greeting I Chas. H. Israill A Notary Public by authority of Pennsylvania duly commissioned and sworn residing in the City of Pittsburgh Do Certify That I have satisfactory evidence by the solemn oath of John Bowman, a man of veracity that Henry Williams, a man of color, who is now present, is a Freeman an was born of Free parents in the City of New York and State of New York. Said Henry Williams is about Five feet, 10 inchs in height about 35years of age stout and straight build has his fore finger on the right hand crooked caused by cut from an axe, one small scar, on the left side of the upper lip near the nose. Whereupon I have hereby granted these presents under my hand and Notarial Seal of office at Pittsburgh the 13th day of June A D 1837.
