James Wilson testifies that William Harris is a free man. Harris had lived with Wilson in Pittsburgh and served as a Waiter.
State of Pennsylvania City of Pittsburgh, s.s. Allegheny County
Personally appeared before me James Wilson of said City, who being duly sworn according to Law, doth depose and say that he is well acquainted with the bearer hereof William Harris a colored man about twenty four year of age, five feet two and three quarter inches high, has two visible Scars on the right foot immediately above the toes, occasioned by the tread of a horse, and the cut of an Axe, that said William Harris lived with deponent and served as Waiter about ten years since in the City of Pittsburgh, that he is a free man and a Citizen of the State of Pennsylvania.
