We the undersigned do hereby certify that the bearer Allen Norton a light yellow Boy, about 21 or 22 years of age having a scar on each cheek or jaw and also one down across the nose, is the son of Chelsey Norton, that his father and Allen withh has for 12 or 14 years last past, resided in theCounty of Rigo Indiana, Originally came from North Carolina, are free and always reputed to have been free. And we beleive are entitled to all the privileges of free men of Colour in any part of the United States.
