Catherine Thompson frees Jacob Moore, her “mulatto slave.”
Know all Men by these Presents that I Catharine Thompson
of Huntingdon County but now in Pittsburgh in the County of
Allegheny for and in Consideration of the services which I
have received from Jacob Moore my Mulatto slave Do now
release and for ever set free the said Jacob Moore from all
claim or claims which I ever had or now have and from all manner of
claim or claims to servitude which by me my heirs or assigns or which by
any other person or persons might or could be made in virtue of his being
my former property I do release him the said Jacob In witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 6th
day of March 1804 –

On the sixth day of March 1804 personally appeared before me William Gazzam a Justice of the Peace in and for the said County Catherine Thompson and acknowledged the above to be her hand and seal & her act & deed & desired the same might be recorded as such. —
